When I found out there was going to be a sequel to Foolish Games I nearly flipped out because I loved Foolish Games . J.T. Hawkins was even one of my book boyfriends. You never know about sequels sometimes they can be great and others well.... With Time Out I was NOT disappointed.

J.T is still hot and smoldering and loving. *Sigh* but poor Joie who seems to have the worst luck ever. She is like a magnet for if the worst possible thing could happen to you then Joie is your girl. But she is a survivor and it just makes her more loveable.

Let's talk about Joie's friends. I loved Riley in the first book and second book but in the first I thought Lizzy was quite the beotch. Thank goodness she cleaned up her act and became what a friend should be but she did pass her past trophy to Gweniverie. Now she made Lizzy look like a saint.

The ending was great. I super recommend this series because it has love, mystery, suspense and just great dialogue. I absolutely adore Leah Spiegel and Megan Summers. So far every book that I have read from them has been golden.

Somehow among scenes of a bus being blown up and other big-boom action, a love story manages to be told. I do not need such a generous helping of drama and its side effect of death to keep my interest, so, I find these scenes distracting from the rock band road trip romance. In this book, our heroine has stopped doing her job (blogging about her boyfriend) and no longer has her van to drive. Her mother's electricity has been shut off and the bills at home have piled up. Her friend earns an "allowance" from her on again-off again boyfriend. Interesting perspective from women writers -- their female characters are pretty vulnerable.
Lately I feel like I sound like a broken record when trying to write a review for books I have read. But I just can not help it! I have had such positive experiences with the all of the books I have read in recent months. And this book is no exception!

I was very happily surprised to find that this book was released the same day that I finished up with the first one. When I started reading this one I though oh no here we go again! After everything Joie, Riley and Lizzie had been through in the first book I just could not imagine them being able to handle much more. I was wrong! Ms. Spiegel spun a whole new tale for the trio and made it feel fresh and new yet familiar. I loved the ending and am looking forward to reading more about the journey the author has planned for Hawkins and Joie.
So book two kept my heart pounding until the very last page. I just cannot express how much I love this series. Joie is my hero. I love her to death and Hawkins oh hot Damn. I could finish him like a cheesecake. In the first book I wasn't to keen to lizzie but I must say she has grown on me in this book. I was much happier to see her kick ass to defend her friend rather than put her down and make her miserable. Riley is the awesomest person ever. I've loved him since the first page of foolish games and that love has increased in this book. I really hope that harlow will come out and hey can go public with their relationship. I'll have to wait and find out in book three. And last Hawkins and joie are going to have beautiful babies! =]
This was a great follow up to foolish games. Joie is still following Hawkins on tour, but has some new competition as Gwen Hawkins ex-fiancé (who is also Warren's sister) has come on the scene and seems to be here to stay. Joie is in a constant battle with Gwen and just when Joie and Lizzie have come up with a game plan to make Joie shine, a new threat to the band has arisen. Hawkins in his attempt to protect Joie sends her home in order to protect, however feels nothing but rejection as she fears Gwen having alone time with Hawkins. Unfortunately for Joie and Hawkins the treat follows her home and Joie once again finds herself in danger. This book was really great however the book just seems to stop without a complete ending. I would have given it 4 1/2 stars if it were available and a 5 if there would have been just a few more pages in the end tying it up. I was left not knowing if there was another book to follow or if this is it and were are suppose to just imagine what their future would be like. I really do hope there is one more in this series, because I really want to know what happens next.
First, let me mention that I do not give many reviews on books. I never have time too! As soon as one books done, I'm off to another one. This book must be reviewed though. I loved the first book. I loved this one just as much. I did become frustrated at times but that had nothing to do with the authors writing or storytelling. Everything was great. Joie and Hawkins are just too cute together. I love all the climatic events and drama that goes on. This author knows how to keep your attention the whole time. Many people talk about how they HATED Gwen. Yes, she did some horrible things and I couldn't stand her, however in the end she did a great thing and I found myself not hating her as much. Lizzy and Riley were great in this book. Lizzy didn't even bother me as much! She was still selfish and the same ol' Lizzy, but this time she actually tried helping Joie and I see why they were friends. Riley is adorable and I love the relationship he has with Rob. I don't want to give any spoilers away, so I am going to wrap this up. Howver, I must say...the ending sure did surprise me. I'm happy of course and hope there is a third book.
